Route

Durham Services → Bishop Auckland → Barnard Castle via A688.
Barnard Castle → Middleton-in-Teesdale via B6277 (up Teesdale).
Middleton-in-Teesdale → Langdon Beck and optionally on to Alston via B6277.
From Langdon Beck/Alston area, head south via B6276 towards the Tan Hill Inn.
Drop into Swaledale at Keld/Muker via the Tan Hill road.
Muker → Thwaite → Hawes via Buttertubs Pass.
Hawes → Aysgarth → Leyburn via A684.
Leyburn → Richmond via A684/A6108.
Richmond → Scotch Corner → Piercebridge via B6275.
Piercebridge → Bishop Auckland → Durham Services via A688.

Planned Stops

Stop 1 (~45–55 mins): Barnard Castle – fuel and coffee.
Stop 2 (~45–65 mins later): Middleton-in-Teesdale or Alston.
Stop 3 (~45–55 mins later): Tan Hill Inn or Muker.
Stop 4 (~30–45 mins later): Hawes – potential main lunch stop.
Stop 5 (~50–60 mins later): Leyburn or Richmond.

Notes

Classic Dales ride; tune distance by including/excluding Alston/Hartside.
